Privacy Policy

How Employ Quick collects, uses, stores and protects personal information — whether you are a candidate, a client, or simply visiting this website.

01Who we are

The organisation responsible for your data

Employ Quick is a recruitment and HR solutions company providing talent acquisition, HR operations and consulting, staff outsourcing, and automation services to organisations across Africa and beyond.

For the purposes of data protection law, Employ Quick is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Where we process candidate or employee information on behalf of a client organisation, we act as a data processor under that client’s instructions.

02What we collect

The information we hold

What we collect depends on your relationship with us. We only ask for what we genuinely need to do the job.

If you are a candidate

Name, contact details, CV or résumé, work history, education and qualifications, current and expected salary, notice period, location and right-to-work status, referee details, and our interview and assessment notes about you.

If you are a client

Your name, job title, work email and phone number, your organisation’s details, and the content of the hiring briefs and correspondence you send us.

If you visit this website

Pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, referring website, and anything you type into a form on the site.

Sensitive information. We do not seek out special-category information such as health, religion, ethnicity, political views or trade union membership. If a client requires such information for a lawful purpose — for example a statutory background check or a workplace accessibility adjustment — we will tell you first and ask for your explicit consent.

03Where it comes from

How we obtain your information

  • Directly from you — through forms on this website, by email, over the phone, or in an interview.
  • From your employer or prospective employer — where we are running a search or managing an outsourced team on their behalf.
  • From public professional sources — such as LinkedIn, published CVs and job-board profiles, where you have made that information available for recruitment purposes.
  • From referrals — where a colleague or contact recommends you. We will tell you who referred you if you ask.
  • From referees — but only after you have given us permission to approach them.
04Why we use it

Our purposes and lawful basis

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and comparable laws in the other markets we operate in, we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are set out below.

05Who sees it

Sharing your information

We share personal information only where it is necessary, and only with parties who are obliged to protect it.

Client organisations

If you are a candidate, we share your CV and our assessment with the specific client hiring for the role. We always tell you which organisation before we send anything.

Service providers

Email, hosting, applicant tracking and payroll providers who process data on our instructions under written agreements. They may not use it for their own purposes.

Regulators and authorities

Where we are legally required to disclose information — for example to a tax authority, a regulator, or in response to a lawful court order.

06Across borders

International transfers

We recruit across African markets and beyond. That means your information may be transferred to, and stored in, a country other than the one you live in — for example when we present you to a client headquartered elsewhere, or when we use a hosting provider based abroad.

Wherever your data goes, we require the receiving party to protect it to a standard consistent with this policy and with the data protection law that applies to you.

How long we keep it

Candidates: up to 24 months from our last meaningful contact with you, then deleted or anonymised.

Placed candidates and clients: for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by tax and employment law.

Website enquiries: up to 24 months.

07Your rights

What you can ask us to do

You have rights over your personal information, and exercising them is free. Email career@employquick.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Access

Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and an explanation of how we are using it.

Correction

Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete — an out-of-date CV, a wrong salary figure, a misspelled name.

Deletion

Ask us to delete your information. We will do so unless we are legally required to keep it, and we will tell you if that applies.

Objection & restriction

Object to us using your information, or ask us to pause using it while a concern is investigated.

Portability

Ask us to provide the information you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

Withdraw consent

Where we rely on your consent — such as keeping you on our database — you can withdraw it at any time, without giving a reason.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), or to the equivalent supervisory authority in the country where you live.

08Cookies

Cookies and this website

This website uses a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary — they keep the site secure, remember your form entries and allow logged-in administrators to work. Others help us understand which pages people find useful.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working properly.

09Security

How we protect it

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the entire website
  • Access limited to the consultants who need it to do their work
  • Reputable hosting and software providers with their own security commitments
  • Regular backups, so information can be restored if something fails

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs that puts your rights at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authority without undue delay.

10Changes

Updates to this policy

We review this policy periodically and will update it when our practices change or the law requires it. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change, we will make that clear on the website.

This policy explains our practices in plain language. It is not legal advice, and it does not override any separate agreement you have signed with us.

Questions about your data?

Email us and a real person will answer. We treat privacy requests as seriously as we treat hiring briefs.
